Disneyland has nothing on Sprokejesland! A tiny park devoted to fables and fairytales and made just for little people. Ineke, Bas and Willem had a great time wandering around and playing with the kabouters (dwarves) and looking at all the little houses. We saw sleeping beauty, snow white (although Ineke was a bit surprised that she didn’t look like the snow white in her Princess book!) and even pulled out the Excalibur sword from Camelot! They rode on horses on a track and in ladybug boats. Bas was a bit scared of the witch in the hansel and gretel house, but the castle with the knight more than made up for it!
A day filled with wonder and smiles. Can’t do better than that. The evening we had a great visit from Bas van Dongen (big Bas) and Esther who made instant friends with the kids by providing them with the BIGGEST lollipops that I’ve ever seen in my life. They had a great time and by the end, their mouths were blue with sugar! Lots of fun and the evening finished off with Willem falling asleep in Roel’s lap with a Nijntje (Miffy) story!
Chris spent the day with a couple of cousins golfing in Den Haag and he said that he laughed so much that the back of his head hurt! So a great time was had by all.
We look forward to tomorrow’s family lunch where all the aunts and uncles and cousins are meeting up for a visit and one massive playdate!!
