It has been one of those months that is so busy, I haven’t had time to even upload photos from my camera to the computer. In fact, its hard to believe that the month is over, and autumn is here.I’m going to just post a few photos to highlight some of what we’ve been up to.
When we returned from Osoyoos, Jet, Roel and Julie were at the Point for a visit. The kids had a great time playing all together and we got to enjoy some amazing meals all together. Chris had a lot of fun experimenting with his new smoker and as a result we have eaten more meat this summer than I have ever eaten. I am considering becoming a vegetarian for the winter just to recover!
After a sad farewell to all the family, life got very busy. We started with a weekend in Whistler where the weather was beautiful, we swam in the pool, hung out on the beach and enjoyed a delicious dinner at Hy’s Steakhouse. On the way back, we stopped at the Britannia mine where everyone panned for gold.
The next part of August was filled with camps. Bas and Ineke started with Pedalheads where they did an awesome job learning how to ride their bikes. The first day, both of their traning wheels were removed and by day three, Bas was riding completely on his own. On the last day, he could ride with one hand and wave at me with the other one! His teacher was so impressed that he can skip a level next time! Ineke can also ride on her own, but needs a bit of help getting going. She’ll be a great rider when she develops a bit more muscle strength in her legs.
The second camp was mini World Cup Soccer at UBC. Bas and Ineke were on team USA and learned lots of new soccer skills. Willem was on the field mice team and worked hard with coach Dougie (the organizer of the soccer camp who has been doing it for almost 40 years!)
The last big event of the summer was the Smoke Out this weekend at the cabin. I’ll have to do that as a separate post tomorrow!

Love it all!!!
